The Cell That Started It All
Even if most people are already well-aware of the concept of stem cells we feel like there are some misunderstandings. First of all, there are four types of stem cells. They are:

The other outcome of a stem cell transplant is basically for the procedure to have zero effect on the patient. This happens in roughly half of the cases and so far nobody knows exactly why. Sometimes a second procedure works even after a failed first one, when none of the conditions have changed. Our Time-Tested Procedures
The process of storing away cells isn’t just one simple procedure. It involves a few steps and can basically be divided into two stages:
- Stage 1 – Preparations
- Stage 2 – Extracting, Transporting, Processing, Storing
The first stage involves all the documents you have to read and sign before we move on with the other procedures. This usually happens a few months before labor. We give you plenty of materials to read and prepare yourself for all the other parts. Once the labor gets closer, we send the hospital (or you) two 100 milliliter flasks which will have to be filled with the umbilical and placental blood. If your doctors can’t do it, we have a constantly ready team that can come to the hospital and extract the blood themselves.
On the flasks there are instructions on how to be stored in case they have to stay for some time in the hospital. After our teams come and take them away, they are taken into one of our facilities. There, we process the blood to take away all the blood elements leaving only the plasma with the stem cells inside.
Now, the final solution is ready to be cryogenically frozen. We use quick-freezing techniques which do not damage the material. After they flasks are frozen, they are stored away in cryo chambers for as long as you need them to.
